This cosy self catering cottage lies within the grounds of Cloncaird Castle amidst stunning Ayrshire countryside close to the small village of Kirkmichael, near the town of Maybole and only ten miles from the bustling town of Ayr.

Parts of Cloncaird Castle dates way back, the Mures held the property in 1494, Patrick Mure was killed at the Battle of Flodden in 1513. The castle is steeped in history and has a ghost man who has often been seen on the stairs.

The cottage itself dates back over a century, no tales of ghosts within its walls.
Comfort is key in this holiday home, it comes superbly finished along with underfloor heating, oak panels and a mixture of oak flooring and slate gives the home character and charm.

Located on a 140 acre estate that gives easy access to delightful walks, a wonderful pond, a fountain, a river with salmon fishing rights and beautiful gardens all combines to make this the perfect spot for a getaway break.

The village of Kirkmichael is about a mile away where there is a shop and a welcoming pub, and the town of Maybole is closeby with a good selection of shops, cafes and restaurants.

The wonderful Ayrshire coast is within easy reach, dotted with quaint, small villages and coastal towns, along with Culzean Castle which is well worth a visit. There is a great selection of championship golf courses available that include the world-famous links at Troon and Turnberry and Prestwick Airport is only a half hour drive away.

You can also head inland through the rambling countryside and discover delights such as Loch Doon and the Galloway Forest Park, one of only four Dark Sky Parks in the western world.
